The Denial by Peter

The Denial of Peter is a poignant episode in the New Testament where Peter, one of Jesus’ closest disciples, denies knowing Him three times before the rooster crows, fulfilling Jesus’ prior prophecy. Gathering Around the Fire: Peter joins a group of people warming themselves around a fire in the courtyard of the high priest after Jesus is arrested.
First Denial: A servant girl recognizes Peter as a follower of Jesus, but he denies knowing Jesus to her and those nearby.
Second Denial: Another servant girl sees him and again tells those around that Peter is associated with Jesus. Peter denies it again.
Third Denial: After a while, others standing around confront Peter, claiming he must be a follower because his accent betrays him. Peter then calls down curses on himself and swears he does not know Jesus.
The Rooster Crows: Immediately after Peter’s third denial, a rooster crows, fulfilling Jesus' prediction about Peter's denials.
